How to replace a keg:

You may find yourself in a situation where you would like to replace a tapped keg. Whether it is a Tap Takeover, a new seasonal keg, or a whim, this article will teach you how to replace a keg using the Performance Platform™.

Step one, receive the new keg and add it to your On Deck Plan.

Before you replace the old tapped keg, you need to make sure that the new keg is properly assigned to the old keg's tap line. To do this, receive the keg and then, in the On Deck Page, move the new keg from Unassigned Kegs to the tap line with the old keg you would like to replace. Make sure that the new keg is in the first On Deck spot.

  1. On the On Deck page, click the three dots in the top right of the tap with the old keg you would like to replace (circled to the right).  If you have not done step one above, you will not see "Replace Tapped Keg" as an option.
  2. Click "Replace Tapped Keg". This will pull up the Replace Keg screen.

Lastly, fill out all information on the Replace Keg screen.

  • You should first see the old keg you would like to replace under "On Tap shows this", confirm this is correct.
  • Next, decided where you want the old keg to be moved. The old keg can be moved to unassigned (marked with an A in the image to the left) or archive (marked with a B in the image to the left).
  • Choose "Unassigned Kegs", if you plan on putting the old keg back on tap. If you decide to re-tap the keg, all of your keg data is still there! The keg will appear in the Unassigned Kegs section of On Deck so you can easily put it back on tap when you                                                                                       decide.
  • Choose "Archived", if you don't plan on using the old keg again. This sends the keg to your archive. The archive is essentially a history of kicked or no longer needed kegs.
  • When you make your choice, click continue.

  • In page 2 (shown to the right), double check that the kegs you are swapping are correct.
  • Finally, now is the time to physically remove the old keg from the sensor and place the new keg on. When you have done this, click on and check the two boxes circled to the right.
  • Click, "Save & Update Tap". You have successfully replaced a keg on the Performance Platform™!
