What do I do if a sensor is offline?

When a sensor is “offline”, it is no longer recording information. This article will describe the troubleshooting process.

Unplug the battery and plug it back it.

1. Grip the sensor by the black plastic top and turn it upside down. Please be sure not to touch the silver metal base. During your troubleshooting you will need to be familiar with the components of your sensor. For a refresher on the parts of your sensor, click here.

2. Take the battery out of the offline sensor (to learn how to remove a battery, click here) - wait a minute and put the same battery back in. If the red light does not come on when the same battery is plugged back in, the battery is likely dead.

  • If the red light does come on after the battery is plugged in, proceed to step 3.
  • If the red light does not come on after the battery is plugged in and you have an extra battery, repeat step 2 but with a new battery.
  • If the red light does not come on and you do not have an extra battery, skip to step 4 and contact Brewlogix support.

3. Press the RFID button until the red light appears. While the red light is still red, slide the appropriate line tag (what is a line tag?) into the RFID reader of the sensor. The red light will flash three times to confirm the sensor has been re-paired to the gateway.

NOTE: If sensor 2 is offline, slide line tag 2 in the RFID slot of sensor 2- see image below.

4. Contact Brewlogix support by email support@brewlogix.com or  call us at (800) 257-6898. In your correspondence please note the sensor number and summarize your troubleshooting process. Thank you!
